LANCASTER, PA —Earlier this week, Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) sent a letter to Pennsylvania Department of Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, requesting additional information on the use of their reopening metric: a county having fewer than 50 new cases per 100,000 population for 14 consecutive days. This metric was one of the chief criteria used by Gov. Wolf's Administration in allowing counties to move to the first phase of the reopening process.

LANCASTER, PA —Last evening, the United States Senate passed H.R. 7010, the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act of 2020. The legislation initially passed the House of Representatives last week with Congressman Lloyd Smucker's support, by a vote of 417-1. Washington, D.C. – Congressman Lloyd Smucker (R-PA-11) is introducing the Equity in Student Loan Relief Act, a bipartisan bill that would extend the temporary relief from student loan payments to Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL). The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provided much-needed student loan relief during this global pandemic, suspending all monthly payments and interest accumulation for federally held student loans through September 30, 2020.
