Washington—Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) has introduced three pieces of legislation aimed at aiding foster children, families, and child welfare agencies (CWAs). Smucker’s bills would expand state flexibility to utilize funding provided by Title IV-B of the Social Security Act to support foster children and families, require a reduction in administrative burden for CWAs, and assist CWAs in recruiting and retaining talented caseworkers.

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Lloyd Smucker (PA-11), along with Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today sent a letter today to Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to request that he investigate U.S. Attorney Jacqueline Romero. Romero, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, allegedly retaliated against one of her deputies because of the attorney’s work investigating Hunter Biden.

Washington–Rep. Lloyd Smucker’s (PA-11) Timeline Integrity for Medicare Evidence Development (TIMED) Act was advanced in the Ways and Means Committee during a markup. 

This bill introduced by Rep. Smucker was included as a part of the American Medical Innovation and Investment Act, H.R. 8816.

Washington—Legislation introduced by Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) to aid foster children, families, and child welfare agencies (CWAs) was advanced by the Ways and Means Committee today. Rep. Smucker’s legislation was included in the comprehensive and bipartisan Protecting America’s Children by Strengthening Families Act (H.R. 9076) which reauthorizes and reforms child welfare programs authorized under Title IV-B of the Social Security Act.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) and U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) today shared a new study from Ernst and Young (EY) highlighting the economic activity supported by their small and family-owned business tax deduction. The Section 199A deduction provides a 20 percent deduction for pass-through businesses, allowing these businesses to reinvest their hard-earned capital, increase wages, and hire more employees.

Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) and Don Beyer (VA-08), members of the Ways and Means Committee, announce jointly-introducing the Ensuring Nationwide Access to Better Life Experience (ENABLE) Act (H.R. 9614). This legislation helps individuals with disabilities save for their futures by permanently extending three provisions of the tax code which expire in 2025.
