When you sent me to Congress to serve as your representative, I attended the new member orientation, which was a great opportunity to meet new colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

As we met and shared our vision for the country, we agreed to try to work together as much as possible and find common ground among Republicans and Democrats. So we signed a civility pledge and formed a nonpartisan caucus.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-16) is working to expand opportunities for active-duty military men and women to learn career skills and occupational training that would assist them in their transition back to civilian life.

Working across the aisle with Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Rep. Smucker offered an amendment to the FY18 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would expand eligibility for the United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP) to include all members of the uniformed services.
