Smucker Discusses DACA, CHIP, and Infrastructure on Fox Business

Washington, D.C. – In case you missed it, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-16) joined Liz Claman on Countdown to the Closing Bell on Fox Business Network to discuss bipartisan efforts on DACA, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and infrastructure.

Excerpts of his interview, as well as the full video, are below.

On DACA:

"I personally have been part of several groups that have been working for months to try to find a solution here. I think most of us believe that we should find a solution to ensure that folks who have been part of the DACA program should be able to stay here and be productive parts of society. But you know what I hear from people, both in our conference and from people all across the district, is we have to be sure we don't get here again in a few years. So as a part of that deal you have to have border security, you have to have effective interior enforcement."

On CHIP:

"We must get this approved to ensure that kids do not lose coverage. You're going to see a lot come together in the next week or so, and I believe this will as well."

On infrastructure:

"I think you'll see bipartisan support for an infrastructure package. As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I know there's been a lot of work by our chairman, by the members of the committee, by the administration on infrastructure, and there have been bipartisan discussions."
