"This process is becoming too familiar – taking government funding down to the wire, massively increasing spending levels, and then spending above those increased levels without implementing any meaningful spending reforms."
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Lloyd Smucker joins Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Chellie Pingree (D-ME) to introduced the Interstate Milk Freedom Act (H.R. 5410) today. This bill prohibits federal interference with the interstate traffic of unpasteurized milk and milk products that are packaged for direct human consumption.
It's legal to drink raw milk in 50 states. It is legal to sell raw milk in 28 states. Congress has never passed a ban on raw milk. Yet, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) did so in capitulation to a lawsuit.
Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY20 which included U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker's (PA-11) amendment to permanently reauthorize the U.S. Department of Defense's Mentor-Protégé program with some additional accountability measures, and an amendment to require the DOD to submit a report that details the exact shortage of mental health providers at the DOD no later than 180 days after enactment.
Washington, D.C. – On April 3rd, 2019, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA) joined with his colleagues and introduced a bill to deter robocalls in the U.S. called the TRACED Act, which passed the House with bipartisan support. Senators John Thune (R-S.D.) and Ed Markey (D- Mass.) introduced the Senate companion bill (S. 151), which had 22 bipartisan cosponsors and passed the Senate.
Today, the TRACED Act will head to President Trump's desk and he's expected to sign this important legislation into law, to help cut down on the nuisance of robocalls.

The policy allows employees to use HRAs offered by their employers to purchase individual health insurance.
