WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.) introduced a bill to strengthen America's pediatric workforce in the health care industry.
The Strengthening Our Pediatric Workforce Act (H.R. 1656) will provide grants to existing children's hospital residency programs to help incorporate initiatives focused on addressing pediatric health disparities into their medical training. This funding will better prepare our current and future residents to treat children dealing with poverty, child abuse, opioid overuse, and access to care issues.

WASHINGTON, D.C. —On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Susquehanna National Heritage Area Act, sponsored by Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.) by a vote of 363-62.
Smucker applauded the passage of the bill, explaining how the legislation will positively affect Pennsylvania's 11th District.
"This bill's passage is a win for our community for a number of reasons," Smucker said. "Not only will this bill highlight the natural beauty of the Susquehanna Valley but it will also help bring jobs and economic growth to our area."

"Emergency declarations should not be taken lightly. President Trump has made a strong case that there's a humanitarian crisis at our southern border – and I agree. After research and consideration, I believe Trump is acting within his authority to take this action."

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Susquehanna National Heritage Area Act, sponsored by U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.) passed the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, moving the legislation one step closer to becoming law. Senators approved the legislation as part of S. 47, the Natural Resources Management Act. The measure passed by a vote of 92-8.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.) announced his subcommittee assignments on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for the 116th Congress.
Smucker will sit on three subcommittees: the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials and the Subcommittee on Aviation.
