WASHINGTON--The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) published its updated baseline, the annual Budget and Economic Outlook. Vice Chair of the House Budget Committee Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) released the following statement:
"When it comes to economic growth, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has one thing right—the Working Families Tax Cuts (WFTC) are accelerating the growth of the American economy.
WASHINGTON – Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) voted to pass S. 1383, the SAVE America Act, legislation aimed at strengthening the integrity of our nation’s election process by requiring proof of U.S. citizenship and valid identification to cast a ballot.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) joined his colleagues in sending a bicameral, bipartisan letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio urging the administration to extend non-profit libraries’ participation Passport Acceptance Program through the end of the calendar year. An extension of libraries’ participation in the program would allow Congress to work toward a permanent solution and advance the Community Passport Services Access Act, bipartisan and bicameral legislation for which Rep. Smucker is an original co-sponsor.
Rep. Smucker: "You would expect if a marketplace is working properly, that perhaps under consolidation, we would see lower or at least slower growing premiums in highly concentrated markets. But that's just simply not happening today."

Tom Suozzi (NY-03), to establish new transparency and reporting requirements for the Department of the Treasury whenever the federal government approaches the statutory debt limit.
WASHINGTON—Rep. Smucker (PA-11) has joined his fellow Pennsylvania colleagues in the introduction of the Community Passport Services Access Act, H.R. 6997, legislation to ensure non-profit libraries can continue to operate as passport acceptance agencies. The bill would allow qualifying nonprofit public libraries to collect and retain passport execution fees that support their operations.
