Washington—Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) introduced legislation to block implementation of a Biden administration regulation which would directly lead to higher taxes on Americans. In the form of new Davis-Bacon Act regulation, the Biden Administration wants to require prevailing wages for federal or federally funded construction projects, which will cause a dramatic increase in costs.
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) voted in favor of H.R. 277, the REINS Act (Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act). The legislation would require congressional approval of major executive department regulations, including those which would have an estimated impact on the economy of $100 million or more, increase in costs or prices for consumers, or impact American businesses’ ability to compete with foreign-based enterprises.

Washington, DC – Representative Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) released the following statement announcing that the Lancaster Airport (LNS) in Lititz, Pennsylvania will receive $3,788,770, including nearly $2.9 million in discretionary funding, from the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airport Improvement Program grant program:
Washington, D.C. —Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) introduced the USER FEE Act (Using Sustainable Energy Resources to Fund Equitable e-Transportation Act) which would establish a user fee for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to equitably fund the Highway Trust Fund. The Highway Trust Fund is currently funded by federal fuel excise taxes and other fees; electronic vehicles do not pay into the Highway Trust Fund and thus do not help to repair the roads they drive on.
