Building Confidence in Elections
Americans are concerned about the economy. A recent NBC poll indicated that only 33 percent of Americans approve of President Joe Biden's handling of the economy.

Twelve years ago, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Adm. Michael Mullen famously warned, "the most significant threat to our national security is our debt." At the time, the nation's federal debt was roughly $13.5 trillion. Congress and our government have completely ignored Mr. Mullen's warning; our national debt has now surpassed $30 trillion and is growing exponentially.

Everywhere the American people go they find that groceries and gas are more expensive. This is President Biden's inflation crisis and it's estimated to cost American families approximately $5,200 more this year.
Earlier this month, I joined 11 of my House Budget Committee Republican colleagues in visiting our nation's southern border in McAllen, Texas, to see President Biden's border crisis first-hand. Now in my third term in Congress, I have visited the border more often than President Biden, who has been in Washington, D.C. for nearly half a century. His refusal to see the border crisis firsthand is an acknowledgement that his policies continue to fail the American people.
Every April, we celebrate Second Chance Month, an opportunity to remember those in our community who are reentering society after involvement in the criminal justice system and consider the unique obstacles they face. America is the land of opportunity and second chances. Previously incarcerated individuals who take accountability for their actions and improve their lives should be able to count on our support.
