Smucker Supports American Relief Act

Washington- Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) released the following statement after voting in favor of the American Relief Act of 2025:
“The American Relief Act of 2025 continues funding the government at current levels until after President Trump takes office, at which point Congressional Republicans will be able to achieve a much more fiscally responsible bill.
This bill is far different from the first version that was released for consideration, which contained many extraneous funding provisions that would have increased spending. The American people were right in opposing that bill. President Trump and Congressional Republicans were given a mandate to change government by cutting spending and streamlining the bureaucracy. The first bill would have been business as usual by including wasteful, bloated spending. I am happy it was not considered.
While I am no fan of using continuing resolutions to fund the government, it is for these reasons that I voted in favor of the American Relief Act, which passed the House of Representatives. As the 119th Congress begins, I will work with President Trump to advance fiscally responsible legislation,” said Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11).
