Smucker Statement on President Trump’s Effort to Promote Agriculture and Rural Prosperity

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-16) issued the following statement on President Trump's executive order establishing the Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity:
"Agricultural communities across Pennsylvania and the nation have been crushed by onerous regulations that unnecessarily hinder economic growth and concentrate power to unelected bureaucrats in Washington. I commend President Trump for establishing this task force. I am particularly pleased to see that the task force will focus on strengthening and expanding educational opportunities for students in rural communities, and will take into account the unique and diverse circumstances farmers face in today's 21st century economy."
Luke Brubaker, of Brubaker Farms in Mount Joy, attended the "Farmers Roundtable" with President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue at the White House on Tuesday. Mr. Brubaker said:
"It was an honor to be invited by the White House to attend the roundtable. I am thrilled President Trump and Secretary Perdue have made America's agriculture communities a priority. I look forward to seeing the results of this task force."
