Smucker Opposes Latest Distraction from Democrats

Washington, DC – Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) opposed H.R. 8404 and released the following statement:

"This bill is the latest attempt by congressional Democrats to distract from the number one issue on the minds of hardworking American families which is President Biden's 40-year high inflation.

Contrary to the claim of some, a majority of the United States Supreme Court clearly stated in the Dobbsdecision that "Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion."

Congress ought to be working to address runaway inflation, increase American energy production to ease high gas prices, secure our southern border, and get our nation's fiscal house in order," said Smucker.
