Smucker Opposes Effort to Remove Speaker Johnson

Washington—Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) released the following statement after opposing an effort to remove Speaker of the House Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04), and voting in favor of a motion to table the motion to vacate:

“I am proud to support my friend and classmate Mike Johnson to remain Speaker of the House. He will continue to have my support as he leads the People’s House and advances an agenda that will get our nation back on track. Republicans are stronger when we are united. I opposed a reckless and wasteful attempt to throw the House into chaos,” said Rep. Lloyd Smucker.
