Smucker Opposes Democrats’ Distraction from High Gas Prices

Washington, D.C. —Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) voted against the H.R. 7688 – Socialist Energy Price Fixing Act and released the following statement:

"This bill is nothing more than the latest lame attempt by Democrats to deflect responsibility and shift blame for the high prices at the pump which are crushing Americans' budgets. The American people know that the Biden administration and House Democrats are waging war on American-made energy, because Biden himself said he was going to "end fossil fuels." We ought to be doing everything we can to increase domestic energy production, not limit it. This sham bill is a distraction, nothing more," said Smucker.
