Smucker Honors Fallen Columbia Borough Police Chief

Columbia, PA – In celebration of National Police Week, Rep. Smucker visited the Columbia Borough Police Department to honor the service and memory of former Columbia Borough Chief of Police Harry S. Hartman, who was killed in the line of duty on April 4, 1923.
Rep. Smucker shared a copy of remarks entered into the Congressional Record to honor Chief Hartman with current Columbia Borough Police Department Chief Jack Brommer.
Scott Hartman, great great grandson of Chief Hartman attended the ceremony, as well as Columbia Mayor Leo Lutz, Borough Council President Heather Zink, and Borough Council Members Barbara Fisher and Eric Kauffman.
“As we mark one hundred years since Chief Hartman’s passing, may we always honor his service and the service of law enforcement officers everywhere who work to keep our communities safe,” said Rep. Smucker.
