Smucker Announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition

March 6, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The office of U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.) is accepting entries for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition, an annual competition showcasing the artistic talents of America's high school students.

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors An Artistic Discovery, a nationwide competition for high school students interested in the arts and looking for an opportunity to showcase their creativity. The annual contest recognizes and encourages artistic talent of young constituents across the nation, including those living in Pennsylvania's 11th District.

The winner's artwork is displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The artwork of two runners-up will be displayed in Rep. Smucker's Lancaster and Washington offices.

Smucker will announce the winner and runner-up at the end of May.
