Smucker Announces 2018 Congressional Art Competition Gallery

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-16) today announced that entries for his 2018 Congressional Art Competition will be on display at Garden Spot Village's Main Street Art Gallery for the entire month of May.

The winner's artwork will hang in the hallway between the U.S. Capitol Building and the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, D.C. The artwork of two runners-up will be displayed in Rep. Smucker's Lancaster and Washington offices. Rep. Smucker will announce the winner and runners-up at a reception at the end of May.

This month-long display features original artwork from 35 local high school students representing seven different high schools, one homeschool student, and all three counties in Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District. The high schools represented are:

  • Conestoga Valley High School
  • Elizabethtown Area High School
  • Ephrata High School
  • Garden Spot High School
  • Lampeter-Strasburg High School
  • J.P. McCaskey High School
  • Wilson High School
