Pays Tribute to Heroes in the United States Armed Forces

Washington—Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) participated as a member in a bipartisan Congressional Delegation appointed by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson that traveled to Belgium and Luxembourg to participate in events honoring the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Veterans of the battle, their families, members of the administration, Senators, and other dignitaries also attended. 

“I am forever grateful for the heroes who sacrificed and selflessly served our nation in the United States Armed Forces. Their actions are directly responsible for preserving and protecting the freedoms that we enjoy. As we mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, may we always pay tribute to the heroes of the Greatest Generation who defended freedom ensuring that America’s flame of liberty continued to shine bright for future generations of the world to see,” said Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11). 

Smucker joined fifteen colleagues from the House of Representatives in participating in observances held at the Luxembourg American Cemetery, the Battle of the Bulge Monument, and a parade held in Bastogne.
